So…..when you live in my house and you have a birthday, that means a personal photo shoot is in your future.
My Gracie turned ten years old recently. That’s so hard to believe, because she is my baby. As in our last child. :)
She agreed to a “small” photo shoot at nearby Lake Fretwell Park. This park is located on what used to be Cecil Field Naval Base. I’m honestly not sure who owns all of the land around there now, but the park is part of the Jacksonville park system. There’s not a lot to this particular park, but there happen to be a lot of photo opportunities. And it’s almost never crowded, which is a big plus. There is, of course, a lake, although it’s pretty small. I’m quite sure it’s home to several alligators, although I’ve never seen one there. In addition, there’s a dock that really should be condemned. I am so surprised that no one has come and fenced it off or torn it down. Parents need to NOT let their small children near that dock! I had to convince Gracie that it was OK to walk out on it a little bit. My reasoning to her was that I weigh more than she does…..and it didn’t break when I was on it! We only took a few shots on it. But she was a pretty good sport about it. :)
It’s so hard to believe how grownup she is! The last photo session that I did with her was back in November. She wore her warrior princess Halloween costume…..which she absolutely loved doing! Here’s a look back at that. It’s been quite awhile since her last “real” photo shoot. So I was excited that we were able to do this over spring break.
Here are some of my favorites.
