Keepsake: Reception Album

Every time I look at my newest sample album, I fall in love with in even more than I did before!

It’s a reception album!

In case you’re not sure what a reception album is…….It’s typically an album of a couple’s engagement pictures, and it is displayed at their wedding. In addition to awesome pictures of the happy couple, there is plenty of space for wedding guests to respond to prompts on many of the pages.

This particular reception album contains the following prompts:

“Dakota and Westly are prefect together because……”  (<—–I love the unique spelling of his name!)

“Give us ideas for a night out!”

“Where do you see us in 10 years?”

“Give us advice for our 1st year.”

“What’s the secret to a great marriage?”

And it ends with “Thank you for sharing our day with us!”

I absolutely love that this custom album showcases the happy couple’s engagement photos. Often, their guests only see the one or two pictures that they choose for their save the date card. A reception album lets their favorite images from their engagement session shine and be enjoyed by their friends and family.

This particular album is 12″ x 12″, but it is also available in an 8″ x 8″ format. The pages are thick press paper, which allows for easy writing for the guests. It’s best to use an archival pen, such as one you might find in the scrapbook section of a craft store.

Another awesome thing about this album is that the guests get to actively participate in the festivities as they respond to the prompts. This interactive keepsake will be a wonderful thing for the couple to enjoy after they return from their honeymoon. I can just imagine a newlywed couple finally sitting down after unpacking with coffee and their reception album. I can see them wandering through the pages, enjoying all of the comments and sentiments left by their guests. As everyone knows, wedding receptions can be busy and nonstop. It’s hard to really get quality time with guests. This is a very personal way for the bride and groom to enjoy their guests in a different way. In addition, I can image them bringing it out again and again over the years to come.

I know this is a relatively new “trend” in the wedding industry. But I think it’s a great idea! And great ideas tend to stay around. This keepsake album will be a favorite of the bride and groom for sure!
