Meet Autumn | Jacksonville Senior Photographer

The main focus of my photography business is on weddings, engagements, and maternity photography. However, I really enjoy photographing an occasional senior session.

When Autumn contacted me about doing her senior pictures, I was thrilled when she chose historic Five Points (in the Riverside area of Jacksonville) as her primary location. I LOVE Riverside, and I think that the shops and restaurants at Five Points are amazing!

Because Autumn is a phenomenal artist, I knew I wanted to take her to a nearby art warehouse. It has graffiti everywhere. On purpose. Very artsy.

We had already decided on a Saturday morning session to accommodate Autumn’s work schedule. When the weather forecast predicted rain, we decided to meet an hour earlier. Autumn’s session began at 8 am, and that was a great call. There weren’t a lot of people in the Five Points area at that time because most of the shops and eating establishments were still closed. There was, however, another group shooting a couple of skateboarders. That was pretty interesting. Whenever there’s another photographer around at the same time I’m shooting a session, we are almost always able to work around each other. And that is a very good thing!

I absolutely love the fact that Autumn brought some books along with her. She is an avid reader, and she chose three of her favorite books to be in the photo shoot. I was able to incorporate them in several shots.

I also adore her purity ring. If you’re not familiar with what that is……A purity ring is worn by a girl (or guy) who has made a vow to remain pure and save themselves for his/her future spouse. I really admire Autumn for taking this vow and honoring God in this way. Her family let her choose the ring that she wears to symbolize this vow. Autumn picked a gorgeous opal ring (her birthstone) surrounded by dainty precious jewels. I took a macro shot of her ring on one of her open books.

And just as we finished up the last set of photos….thunder started to roll. And the rain was not far behind. I’m so happy that we got tons of images before the weather turned unfavorable. Here are some of my favorites from Autumn’s senior photography session. Autumn is one of the sweetest, thoughtful young ladies I’ve ever met. She is beautiful inside and out, and it really shows in these images!
