This morning, I had an awesome meeting with a client at Starbucks. Tawnee is getting married next month, and I am photographing her wedding!
Tawnee and I first met last fall, when one of her good friends recommended me to be her wedding photographer. We actually met at the same Starbucks. (Different table, though.) :)
An engagement session is included in all of my photography packages, and I love the fact that Tawnee and Cody wanted a rustic feel for their session. I knew just the place. (It’s one of my few secret spots, so please don’t ask for the exact location.)
Doing an engagement session for me is really important because it gives me a chance to work with the bride and groom BEFORE their big day. They know how I work/operate. That makes them more comfortable when I photograph them at their wedding.
In addition, I do an in-person consultation with the bride about a month before her wedding. That’s what took place this morning. I was THRILLED to see Tawnee show up with a big honkin’ NOTEBOOK! I love it!!!!! An organized bride is a less-stressed-out-bride.
I just had to stop right then and there and take a quick iPhone pic. :)
I am so impressed with Tawnee’s organization! She has all of the details for her upcoming wedding in one place. And she even has a personalized cover that features their wedding colors. Love it!!!
Inside, she has info for each vendor. Names, contact info, agreement details. She also has color swatches, etc. I adore her color choices, by the way: navy, blush, and champagne.
As a big organizer/planner myself, this speaks to my heart! This notebook is making Tawnee’s life a lot easier than it might be otherwise. And I think that, as her wedding gets closer, it’s going to pay off even more.
If you are planning a wedding, I strongly encourage you to follow Tawnee’s lead. If you need some more inspiration, check out this blog post from Just Lovely. She’s got some great suggestions for the contents of a great wedding notebook.
