{This is what the beach looks like in late December.}

My parents live in Tennessee.  So the one thing my dad always wants to do when they visit is to see the ocean.  So we went to the beach.  In December.

I ditched my favorite lens (50 mm) in favor of my seldom-used 55-250-mm lens.

If you recognize the lighthouse, you know that we were in Saint Augustine.  Anastasia State Park was cool and a little windy, but the kids still had fun playing around near the surf.

It was my youngest niece’s 1st time going to the beach.  She just turned three.  So sweet!

My husband was content to let me use the “big camera” since he had his iPhone to take pics with.  He is quite the iphoneographer.  And, yes, that really is a word!

One reallly great thing about going to the beach in late December is that it isn’t crowded at all.  I did catch a cool shot of a couple of surfers coming in from the water.

My dad’s wish turned into a great photography opportunity.  Plus, when we returned home, my husband and I booked a campsite there for a few days during spring break.  I can’t wait to go back and get some sunrise beach pics!
