It’s February! I’m not exactly sure where January went, but it went by SO quickly!
On Fridays during the month of January, I shared about one of my goals for 2016. I really enjoyed that series, because putting my thoughts into writing really helps me focus. And that’s a very good thing. It’s one thing to have a bunch of ideas floating around in my head…..but writing them down in an organized way makes a HUGE difference!
Since it’s Valentine’s month, I’ll be sharing about love on Fridays this month. And here is an adorable couple to set the tone:
I really enjoy photographing couples! Honestly, it’s one of my favorite things. Posed images are good, but my favorite shots usually happen when the couple are interacting with each other. When two people in love are also best friends, it shows!
There’s a lot of talk about love during the month of February. Love is a terribly broad word that we use for so many things. I “love” chocolate. I “love” that necklace. I “love” the beach. I “love” my husband.
Somehow, the word love seems insufficient for the deep, selfless feelings one can have for another. It’s certainly much, much more than mere physical attraction. 1 Corinthians 13 does a wonderful job explaining what TRUE LOVE really is:
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends……So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
In a world where many people seem to be looking out only for themselves, it’s nice to know that true love really does exist. It flourishes when we choose others first.
