How can I check availability?
Contact us with the type of portrait session you need. Provide the general timeframe you have in mind. It helps to include the best time of day and day(s) of the week that work with your schedule.
How do I book a session?
Once the date, time, and location are established, Susan Dixon Photography will send a digital invoice and contract via email. You are officially booked when you sign the contract and pay the 50% retainer for your session. The balance of your session fee is due seven days prior to your portrait session.
What should we wear?
I cannot say this enough: SOLID CLOTHING PHOTOGRAPHS BEST! Printed patterns distract the eye and are not as flattering in photographs as they are in real life.
Other tips:
(1) Wear clothing that is your style and that you would actually wear in real life!
(2) For couples, families, and other groups: clothing colors should coordinate, but try to avoid matching outfits. For example: many families will dress in shades of blue, white, and khaki.
(3) Clothing colors that DO NOT photograph well (with digital cameras) include reds, oranges, and purples.
(4) Consider an outfit change if you book the Legacy or Heirloom Package. It will provide you with a wider variety of images.
What happens if it rains?
We deal with rain A LOT in Florida! If it looks like it will rain during your session, I will work closely with you to reschedule. Sometimes, if schedules allow, we can move your session time forward or backward to avoid the rain. Other times we need to reschedule for a new date. There is NO rescheduling fee due to inclement weather.
Can I book a last-minute session?
Yes! The main difference is that you would be billed the entire session fee all at once. Your contract and fee must settled before your session takes place.
